I feel strongly that teaching growth mindset will transform your class. By taking charge of their own learning, kids put themselves on the path to self-discovery. I use these mindset matters quotes in my classroom and encourage students to reference them when needed.

Teaching Growth Mindset

Do you have students who think it’s better to look smart instead of enjoying the rigors of learning?

I’ve had many in my classroom over the years. They’ve developed a fixed mindset. I find they’re more concerned with being judged and fear they may not live up to expectations set by parents and peers. In my classroom, some of them don’t want to answer questions out loud for fear their answer is wrong.

However, kids who are taught to explore, embrace new experiences, and enjoy challenges are not afraid of failure. They see it as a means to being on the path to the right answer. I often hear from these students, “I’m close! I’m going to get it right!” To them, mistakes aren’t setbacks. They’re opportunities to grow.

Mindset Matters Bulletin Board Set

I’ve developed this bulletin board pack with all teachers in mind.

I’ve designed fixed or growth mindset phrases overlapped onto speech bubbles. Every phrase is generic enough to work in nearly every subject and classroom environment.

Two talk bubble header signs are included so as to label “fixed mindset” and “growth mindset.” Two lightbulbs are included so you can demonstrate how negative self-talk closes off the mind from learning and growing. Also, there are bordettes of two thicknesses and a matching “Mindset Matters” title (with and without cutlines) to help finish off your bulletin board display.
